International Yoga Day 2026: Morabadi, Ranchi

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Ranchi-Morabadi, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2026 on 20th and 21st June, in collaboration with the Indian Yoga Association, Ranchi Chapter, and Mother International School, Ranchi, under the campaign “Yoga-Yukt Jharkhand, Rog-Mukt Jharkhand.” The programme included a State-level quiz competition, a District-level Asana competition, a seminar on “Yoga for Healthy Aging,” and the Common Yoga Protocol conducted at Bandhuwadih Village, Angara.

The seminar featured Dr. Sanjay, neurosurgeon, who delivered the keynote address, and Mr. Amit Kumar, Secretary, Indian Yoga Association (Jharkhand), who spoke on the benefits of yoga. Mr. Rakesh Singh, IPS, Traffic SP, Ranchi, attended as Chief Guest. Winners of the quiz and asana competitions were felicitated, and Swami Bhaveshananda, in his benedictory address, spoke of building a “Yogic, Ethical and Organic Jharkhand.”

On 21st June, the Common Yoga Protocol was practised at Bandhuwadih Village with around 310 participants, while similar programmes were held at 27 centres across Jharkhand, involving approximately 1,302 participants in total. Smt. Savitri Devi, Mukhiya of the village, attended as Chief Guest and encouraged villagers to adopt yoga as part of daily life.

The celebration successfully promoted awareness of yoga’s benefits for healthy aging and reinforced the mission’s vision for a healthier Jharkhand.
