1. Overview and Objectives

The Kshetriya Sri Ramakrishna Kisan Mela was successfully conducted in a dignified atmosphere, serving as a powerful platform for farmers to access knowledge, innovation, and self-reliance. The event focused on increasing farmer income through the scientific management of natural resources and the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices.

2. Organization and Support

The fair was organized under the guidance of:

  • Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi (Ranchi).
  • Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
  • Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI).

The event received extensive support from local communities, including 27 Vivekananda Seva Sanghs and various Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

3. Inauguration and Key Addresses

The Mela was jointly inaugurated by Sri Amit Mahto (MLA, Silli) and Swami Bhaveshanandaji (Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Ranchi) with a traditional worship ceremony.

  • Sri Amit Mahto emphasized that rural progress is rooted in moral and practical education. He lauded the Mission’s service activities and encouraged farmers to utilize government schemes and adopt organic farming.
  • Swami Bhaveshanandaji highlighted natural farming as a necessity of the times, detailing its environmental, economic, and social benefits.
  • Other Dignitaries: Guests included Sri Amritesh Kumar Singh (Deputy Director of Agriculture, Jharkhand), scientists from KVK, and several local leaders and administrative officials.

4. Exhibition and Participation

The fair featured an impressive display of agricultural and rural products:

  • Product Exhibition: A total of 747 farmers exhibited their products.
  • Exhibition Breakdown: Stalls included 678 for vegetables, fruits, and flowers; 19 for animal and bird-based products; and 50 for small and cottage industries.
  • Information Hubs: Stalls provided insights into modern agricultural technologies, health check-ups, and various government initiatives.
  • Attendance: Thousands of visitors participated in the event throughout the day.

5. Farmer Recognition and Awards

An awards ceremony was held during the Kisan Sabha to honor progressive farmers for their outstanding performance:

  • Prizes Awarded: 39 First Prizes, 39 Second Prizes, and 4 Consolation Prizes were distributed.
  • Special Honor: Successful farmer Sri Sankara Bedia of Jaradih was specially honored by the MLA as an inspiration to the farming community for his work in natural and organic farming.

6. Cultural Program and Conclusion

The event was enriched by cultural performances, including a Chhau dance and programs presented by local children. Overall, the Kisan Mela proved to be a memorable and impactful event, providing farmers with new direction, inspiration, and the confidence to improve their livelihoods through modern yet sustainable methods.
