Special Free Medical Camp Held at Thakurpura, Dakshin Dinajpur
A Special Free Medical Camp was organised by Ramakrishna Mission, Balurghat, at Thakurpura village in Dakshin Dinajpur district on 27 September 2026, in collaboration with Thakurpura Milan Samity Club. The camp commenced at 10:30 a.m. The village, situated about 22 km from the Mission, is home to many economically disadvantaged people who often lack proper guidance and access to medical care.
The camp was inaugurated by Swami Satyadharmananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Balurghat.
The following doctors rendered their valuable services at the camp:
- Dr Chiranjib Biswas, Paediatrician, Kolkata
- Dr Dhrubaranjan Sarkar, General Physician
- Dr Himangshu Baman, General Physician and retired Government employee
A total of 226 patients—130 females and 96 males—availed themselves of the medical services provided at the camp. The substantial number of beneficiaries highlighted the need for such medical camps in rural and underserved areas.
The doctors were assisted throughout the camp by 10 trained senior nurses and a pharmacist from Dakshin Dinajpur District Hospital, all of whom are devotees of the Mission. Free medicines were distributed to the patients as prescribed by the doctors.
The camp concluded at 3:40 p.m.
Such service activities are inspired by the ideal of ‘Shiva Jnane Jiva Seva’—serving man as God. Through these humble efforts, the Mission seeks to reach out to underprivileged sections of society and provide them with essential medical care and support.
