Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur, Kolkata conducted primary relief distribution in the South 24 Parganas district from 17 August 2026 to 29 August 2026, in response to the flood situation. Relief materials and cooked meals were distributed at two villages, benefitting 1,601 people in all.
At Garankathi, Kultali Block, on 21 August 2026, 100 mosquito nets, 300 kg puffed rice, 26.8 kg snacks (nimki and sweet-and-sour mixture), 1,100 packets of biscuits, 40 kg chali bhaja, 40 kg chira bhaja, 40 kg chanachur, 100 kg sattu and 100 kg chhola bhaja were distributed, and 500 plates of cooked food were served, benefitting 512 people.
At Gobardhanpur, Pathar Pratima Block, from 17 August 2026 to 29 August 2026, 245 mosquito nets, 750 kg puffed rice, 196 kg snacks, 49 kg gram (kabli chana), 2,711 packets of biscuits, 98 kg chali bhaja, 98 kg chira bhaja and 245 kg sattu were distributed, benefitting 1,089 people.
Across both locations, a total of 345 mosquito nets, 1,050 kg puffed rice, 222.8 kg snacks, 49 kg gram, 3,811 packets of biscuits, 138 kg chali bhaja, 138 kg chira bhaja, 40 kg chanachur, 345 kg sattu and 100 kg chhola bhaja were distributed, and 500 plates of cooked food were served, benefitting 1,601 people.
