National Youth Day was celebrated with a colourful procession around the Jhargram town by the students of the school of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram.
Swami Balabhadrananda ji Maharaj, Assistant General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math inaugurated the procession from the ashrama campus. Revered Maharaj also led the procession for 1 km and offered flowers at the feet of the Swamiji Statue at the entrance to the Jhargram town.
A Youth Convention was organised on the school ground which was attended by nearly 1200 students and teachers of 28 schools and 3 colleges and students of the 12 Vivekananda Study Circles run by the Mission in the Jhargram district. Revered Swami Balabhadranandaji Maharaj, Dr Debnarayan Roy, Principal, Raj College, Jhargram and Sri Saktibhusan Gangopadhyay, District Inspector of Schools addressed the gathering. All were given a food packet at the end of the program along with a book of Swamiji.
