In connection with National Youth Day celebration, Ramakrishna Mission, Malliankaranai conducted district level speech, essay and recitation competitions among the students from different schools. Nearly 350 students actively participated in the event from different schools. Each competition’s winners were categorised under first, second and third and the cash award was given to them respectively along with Swamiji’s books. Each participant was given participation certificates.
In the forenoon, there was a huge procession in the Uthiramerur city carrying Swamiji’s photo in the decorated tractor. Nearly 500 students participated in the energetic procession and slogan the Swamiji’s sayings in a chorus. The procession was initiated by waving the flag by the local Sub Inspector of Police. A huge mass of people witnessed the event with joy and all were given chocolates. All the students, teachers and volunteers were given energy drinks during the procession and snacks were served at the end of the procession along with Swamiji’s books.
