The National Youth Day was observed with great importance and dignity on the occasion of the Birth Day of Swami Vivekananda on 12 January 2024 at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Purulia.
The National Flag was hoisted by Prof. (Dr.) Subal Chandra De, Controller of Examinations, Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, Purulia. The National Anthem was sung in chorus by the inmates of Vidyapith. The students of Vidyapith as well as the cadets of Vivekananda Regiment presented March Past. Before that the statue of Swami Vivekananda was garlanded and flowers were offered at the Swami Vivekananda Birth Centenary column by the Guest-in-Chief, the monks, the teachers and some students.
A procession was organised by the youth delegates of ‘Kalyan’ with the sacred flame of torch and offered the same before the Vivekananda’s Birth Centenary Column. Tiffin packets were distributed among the youth delegates.
Swami Niyamananda, a senior monk of Vidyapith was present at the time of National Flag retreat at 5.00 p.m.
During the morning congregational prayer, the students sang some songs on Swami Vivekananda in the Sri Ramakrishna Temple. After the prayer was over a senior student read out from the message of Swami Vivekananda in the Sri Ramakrishna Temple. After the supper, reading from Swami Vivekananda’s writing was arranged in junior and senior hostels under the guidance of monks, teachers and wardens.
