Ramakrishna Mission, Divyayana Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Morabadi, Ranchi, celebrated National Youth Day on January 12, 2025, as it does every year. This special day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The program began at 8:00 AM with a prayer and a procession carrying Swami Vivekananda’s portrait.
The chief guest of the program was the Honorable Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar. The special guests were Professor Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director of the Indian Institute of Technology, Ranchi, and Shri Punnit Kumar Poddar, CMD of Primesun Motors Private Limited, Ranchi. The program was presided over by Swami Bhaveshananda Maharaj, Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram.
Swami Bhaveshananda Maharaj welcomed the guests with an angavastra. In his welcome speech, he said that the main objective of Swami Vivekananda’s life was to awaken the youth of India to their goals, so that the whole world would awaken. Swami Ji said that to make the youth self-reliant, they need to acquire school education, vocational education, and moral education. A self-reliant youth will make the nation self-reliant.
The chief guest, the Honorable Governor, addressing the gathering, said that Swami Vivekananda was a strong advocate of women’s empowerment. He said that the progress of society and the nation is not possible without working for the upliftment of women. The Governor said that the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Morabadi, Ranchi is playing an active role in fulfilling the vision of Swami Vivekananda. He further said that to adopt the thoughts of Swami Ji, the younger generation must develop morality, dedication, and a spirit of social service.
On the occasion of National Youth Day, the 54th annual competition award ceremony was also held. In the first part of the program, students and trainees of the Divyayana Krishi Vigyan Kendra presented cultural programs based on the life of Swami Vivekananda. Scientists of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra presented their views on the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda. The rural people of Vivekananda Seva Sanghs of Angara block, run by Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, organized a morning walk, a motorcycle rally, and a cultural program to celebrate Swami Ji’s birthday. The program was sponsored by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand. The program concluded with the national anthem. A total of 250 people participated in the program.
