Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Mumbai, celebrated National Youth Day on 12th January 2025 with a series of events across multiple locations, commemorating the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
Key Activities:
- Gateway of India: A gathering was held at the Gateway of India, where the statue of Swami Vivekananda was garlanded. Approximately 150-200 people attended, including Shri Chandrashekhar Chore, Joint Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai, as the chief guest.
- Mahim Causeway: A similar event was held at Mahim Causeway, with the garlanding of Swami Vivekananda’s bust. Around 50 people, including school children, participated.
- Vivekananda Auditorium:
- National Youth Day Program: A special program was held for college students, featuring speeches by eminent personalities like Padmashree Shri Uday Deshpande, Shri Hasit Joshipura, Dr. Vivek Sunnapwar, and Swami Kalyanatmananda. Speeches by youth reflecting on Swamiji’s teachings were also included. 350 students and devotees attended.
- VIVEKA Workshops: A full-day workshop on 13th January engaged 610 college students and faculty members. His Excellency, Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri C.P. Radhakrishnanji, was the chief guest.
- Outreach Programs:
- Swami Devakantyananda delivered talks at Bharati Vidyapeeth, D.Y. Patil School of Pharmacy, and Khar Education Society, reaching out to over 300 students and faculty members.
- Swami Jyotiratmananda addressed villagers in Chinchoti, Alibaug.
- Swami Kshitishananda delivered a talk at Prabhadevi Library.
- Sarada Kripa Nidhi: 31 dry ration kits were distributed to poor and needy cancer patients under the Sarada Kripa Nidhi initiative.
