Ramakrishna Math, Cooch Behar, celebrated National Youth Day on 12 January 2026 with a series of vibrant programs involving students, devotees, and the local community.
1. Morning Procession (Nagar Parikrama): The celebrations commenced at 7:00 a.m. with a grand procession through the prominent streets of Cooch Behar. Over 1,000 participants, including students, teachers, devotees, and well-wishers, joined the march. The procession was headlined by marching bands and various cultural tableaux depicting the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Following the rally, tiffin packets were distributed to all participants.
2. Evening Cultural Program: In the evening, a cultural session was organized within the Math campus. The program featured performances by students from the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) and Vivekananda Abhyudaya Prakalpa (VAP). The students showcased their talents through:
- Devotional and patriotic songs.
- Traditional dances.
- Poetry recitations.
The event was well-attended and received high appreciation from the audience for the students’ disciplined and moving performances.
