National Youth Day 2026 : Gwalior

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Gwalior

To commemorate National Youth Day and the 164th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Gwalior, organized a five-day series of educational, cultural, and sporting events. Designed to inspire and motivate the local youth, the program engaged approximately 300 students and teachers from 10 different schools across Gwalior.


Program Highlights

1. Sports Competitions (8th – 9th January) The sports segment was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Kalpana Sharma, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of LNIPE, Gwalior.

  • Categories: Under-17 and Under-14 (Boys & Girls). [Photos Day 1] | [Photos Day 2]
  • Athletics: 100m, 200m, Relay Race, Long Jump, Shot Put, and High Jump (Boys).
  • Team & Skill Events: Kabaddi (Boys), Kho-Kho (Boys), Spoon Race (Girls), and Skipping (Girls).

2. Cultural Competitions (10th January) Students participated in Recitation, Speech, and Singing competitions. Each event was centered on the life, teachings, and timeless ideals of Swami Vivekananda, showcasing great discipline and dedication. [Photos]

3. National Youth Day & Rally (12th January) The celebrations on January 12th began with a vibrant, colorful rally from the Ashrama Campus to Vivekananda Udyan at Jiwaji University. Participants filled the air with patriotic songs and hymns dedicated to Swami Vivekananda’s message. [Photos]


Grand Finale & Prize Distribution

The program concluded with a formal Prize Distribution Ceremony on 12th January, graced by Chief Guest Dr. Rajkumar Acharya, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Jiwaji University.

Throughout the multi-day event, the Ashrama provided noon Prasad to all participants, fostering a sense of community and service.
