New temple consecration: Sitanagaram, March 2023


It was contemplated to inaugurate the newly constructed Universal Prayer Hall of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna at Sitanagaram centre on Ugadi, the new years’ day i.e. on 22-03-2023.

On 22-03-2023, at 8.30 a.m., the pictures of the Holy Trio were carried in procession from the old Prayer Hall to the newly built Hall. After three rounds of the procession with Vedic chanting, singing and dancing through the four sides of the verandah, the building was inaugurated by Revered Swami Atmavidananda ji Maharaj at 8:45 am at the auspicious moment of Telugu New Year day i.e. ‘Ugadi’ on 22 March 2023. All monks and devotees offered pushpanjali at the feet of the Holy Trio. Special worship was performed by Swami Tattwavidananda ji , Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math on the 21st 22nd and 23rd of March 2023. Sri Sri Durga Saptashati was recited by Swami Shantatmanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi.

Subsequently, a public meeting was held at 10.30 a.m. The public meeting started with the opening song by Swami Siteshananda, Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad. The welcome address was given by Swami Hridananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Vijayawada. Talks were given by Sri Kodanda Pani, Engineer cum Architect, Swami Sukritananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Tirupati, Swami Bhitiharananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Kadapa, Swami Swasamvedyananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Visakhapatnam, Swami Vinishchalananda, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Rajahmundry, Swami Bodhamayananda, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad, Swami Shantatmananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi. Honourable Justice Sri Mohan Rao, Andhra Pradesh High court also graced the occasion. Mementoes were given to the donors, well-wishers, staff & workers. The morning session concluded with Pushpanjali at the New Prayer Hall.

In the afternoon session, Bhajan programmes were performed by devotees of Sri Sarada Math, Guntur and Annamayya – Tyagaraja Kirtans were sung by Sri Pradeep Balan & Kum. Lavanya, Chennai. 45 Monastics from different centres of Ramakrishna Mission, 5 Mathajis from Sri Sarada Math, Guntur and around 2000 devotees & well-wishers graced this occasion. A special darshan of Goddess Kanaka Durga was arranged to all these Monastics. Nearly 2000 devotees were served lunch Prasad, 1200 devotees were served breakfast and 500 devotees were served dinner.
