A 60-day skill training program for ex-servicemen, sponsored by the Directorate General of Resettlement (DGR), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, commenced on September 29, 2025, at the Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Morabadi, Ranchi.
Program Details and Inauguration
The ceremony began at 10:00 AM with the lighting of the lamp by Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Morabadi, Ranchi, and Swami Ishwarananda. A total of 21 ex-servicemen from the Army, Air Force, and Navy are participating in this residential training.
The core of the 60-day curriculum is centered on three key areas: Mushroom Production Technology, Bio-Input Resource Center Production Technique, and Beekeeping (Madhumehi Palan) Technology. The program aims to provide participants with the necessary guidance and practical training for self-employment (Swarozgar).
Key Addresses and Highlights
In his presidential address, Swami Bhaveshanand Maharaj praised the ex-servicemen as symbols of discipline and dedication. He encouraged them to embrace self-employment in the agriculture and animal husbandry sectors to contribute to the creation of an “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India). He also shared inspiring stories of previously trained ex-servicemen who have found success in dairy, poultry, and other farm-based enterprises.
Other experts shared insights on the agricultural sector:
- Shri O. P. Dubey of the Ramakrishna Mission Management Committee discussed the use of modern techniques in farming and commercial opportunities.
- Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh provided detailed information on the Bio-Input Resource Center Production Technique, noting that while India is self-sufficient in food grain production, efforts are being made to achieve self-reliance in pulse and oilseed production.
- Dr. Bharat Mahto highlighted the significance of dairy, animal husbandry, and mushroom production. He emphasized that India is a global leader in mushroom production, noting its popularity has grown post-COVID-19 due to it being an excellent source of cholesterol-free protein.
- Dr. Rajesh Kumar introduced the activities of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra and encouraged active participation and dialogue among the trainees.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Swami Ishwarananda.
