A special puja on the occasion of Sri Shankaracharya Jayanti was perfomed in Ramakrishna Advaita Ashram, Kalady.
In the evening at 4.30 pm, local bodies had organised a procession from Kalady town to Shankara Janmasthan. Many sadhus and about 3000 devotees participated in the procession while chanting slogans and singing Bhajans. After the procession bhajans were sung in the Ashrama.
