Ramakrishna Math, Konampatti, organised a One-day Teachers’ Refresher Camp on 21 May 2026 at the Math Campus for the staff members of V.S.K. Duraiswamy Nadar Girls Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Sivakasi. A total of 47 teachers, including the Principal and the Vice Principal, participated in the interactive sessions held through the day.
The special guest speaker for the camp was Dr D.C. Mathangi, Professor and Head, Department of Mind Body Medicine and Lifestyle Sciences, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai. Drawing on her extensive academic and clinical experience, Dr Mathangi addressed the participants through a series of presentations and guided discussions on the following themes:
- Integrating professional and personal dimensions of life towards peace and productivity
- Being goal-oriented while remaining free from tension in day-to-day life
- Cultivating the qualities of a motivating teacher and mentor
- A case study of a dynamic teacher
The sessions were conducted with the aid of PowerPoint presentations and were received with keen interest. The teachers found Dr Mathangi’s experienced and nuanced guidance deeply enriching. Towards the close of the programme, a guided meditation session was conducted for the benefit of all participants.
Spiritual literature published by the Math was made available, and a large number of the teachers availed themselves of the opportunity to procure the same. The feedback provided by the participants was uniformly appreciative. All attendees were presented with wall-hangers featuring photographic sayings of Swami Vivekananda. Refreshments were served in the morning and evening, and noon meals were provided to all.
