Tornado Rehabilitation (Tree Plantation): Jalpaiguri, July 2024

Phase I

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, initiated a comprehensive tornado rehabilitation program on July 26, 2024, by distributing tree saplings to 191 affected families in the Barnish, Putimari, Kayatpara, and other regions. Each family received 191 coconut seedlings, 955 arecanut seedlings, and 382 bayleaf seedlings to aid in their recovery efforts.

Phase II

Expanding its relief efforts, the Ashrama implemented the second phase of the rehabilitation program on July 31, 2024, focusing on the Putimari and Sisuabari areas. A total of 252 families benefited from this phase, receiving a variety of saplings to support their livelihood and ecological restoration. The distribution included 252 coconut saplings, 1260 arecanut saplings, 504 bayleaf saplings, 252 guava saplings, and 252 lime saplings.
