As part of its Universal Brotherhood Day celebrations, Ramakrishna Math, Thanjavur organised a series of value education, motivational, health-awareness, faculty development and character-building programmes from 1 to 29 September 2026, reaching students, teachers, faculty members and young people across Tamil Nadu.

Programme Details
1 September 2026: 63 students of J.R.K. Nursery and Primary School, Thanjavur, participated in a Value Education Programme at the Vivekananda Empowerment Centre.
2 September: 153 students of Morning Star Matriculation School attended a Value Education Programme at the Vivekananda Empowerment Centre.
5 September 2026 (Teachers’ Day): Programmes were conducted at Sri Sundareswara Vidyasala Higher Secondary School, Melur, Madurai. Swami Vimurtananda addressed the teachers on “The First Innings and Second Innings of Life”, and Dr. Krishnaveni Hariram spoke on “Six Gifts Teachers Should Give Their Students”. 60 teachers participated. Separate motivational sessions were held for students of Classes XI and XII, attended by around 400 students.
8 September: 200 students of Thamarai International School attended a programme at the Vivekananda Empowerment Centre. Dr. Kalaimagal spoke on “Health is Your Real Wealth”. Swami Vimurtananda addressed the students on developing the “IBM” of life: Intellect, Body and Mind.
9 September: 100 students of Vivekanandam Vidyashram Senior Secondary School, Thiruvarur, participated in a Value Education Camp at the Vivekananda Empowerment Centre.
10 September: Swami Vimurtananda conducted a series of sessions at Sri Sarada Educational Institutions, Tirunelveli, addressing 60 teachers of Sri Sarada Vidyalaya, around 600 students of Sri Sarada College for Women, around 100 kindergarten children and 120 postgraduate students.
11 September 2026 (Chicago Day): Special programmes were held at multiple venues. Around 450 students of National College, Tiruchirappalli, and around 500 P.E.T. and Yoga students from colleges affiliated to Bharathidasan University participated in dedicated programmes. Around 200 students of Kamala Subramaniam School were addressed by Swami Vimokshananda. A Chicago Day Programme was also held at NIFTEM-T, attended by around 100 participants and addressed by Swami Vimokshananda and Sri Alagu Alagappan.
18 September 2026: Special programmes were conducted for students and faculty members at Saraswathi Narayanan College, Perungudi, Madurai District, with 240 participants. Swami Vimurtananda addressed the students on “Arise! Awake!” and the faculty members on “The Real Inner Competition of a Professor”.
19 September 2026: Teachers and staff of Kumbakonam Town Higher Secondary School, an institution with a 163-year history, visited Ramakrishna Math, Thanjavur and participated in a refresher training camp at the Vivekananda Empowerment Centre, with 82 teachers and staff members in attendance. Prof. Suresh Kumar of Serfoji Government College, Thanjavur, spoke on “How to Transform the Classroom into a Healthy Learning Environment”. Swami Vimurtananda spoke on “Compete with Yourself!”, addressing how teachers may continuously refine themselves and contribute to the shaping of society.
23 September 2026: Special workshops were held at the OPR Educational Group of Colleges, Vadalur, coordinated by Mr Raja Venkatesh and Administrative Secretary Mrs Latha Venkatesh. Approximately 500 students attended Swami Vimurtananda’s session on “Swami Vivekananda’s Lion Women”, which covered excellence in education, character, service, determination and self-confidence. A separate workshop was conducted for 60 professors, in which the participants took part in a reflective exercise on the qualities necessary for professional growth and excellence. The session concluded with the observation that learning well and teaching well rank among the highest ideals of a teacher’s life. A total of 560 participants were reached.
26 September 2026 (Saturday): A faculty development programme was conducted for the professors of Sethubhaskara Agricultural College and Research Foundation, Amaravathipudur, and Sri Sarada Niketan College for Women, with 45 participants.
- Sri Vijay Mithra, a skill-development trainer, spoke on “Living in the Classroom”, outlining practical ways by which teachers can make the classroom a lively and effective learning environment.
- Sri Selva Muthukumar spoke on “Artificial Intelligence in Education”, covering its applications and opportunities in education and the challenges associated with its use.
- Swami Vimurtananda described three types of faculty members: Visitor, Finisher and Achiever.
- A prayer was offered for the professors, followed by Pushpanjali.
29 September 2026 (Tuesday): As part of the NSS Special Camp for 48 students of Kamala Subramaniam Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Thanjavur, a special workshop was held at the Vivekananda Empowerment Centre. The students took part in yoga, meditation and a short session of Bhajan Clapping. Swami Vimurtananda spoke on how Gen Z students may lose direction when affected by distraction and lack of purpose, and how discipline, hard work, self-confidence and focused effort can help them progress.

Across all twelve programmes held during September 2026, approximately 4,081 students, teachers, faculty members and young people were reached through the outreach activities of Ramakrishna Math, Thanjavur, at institutions in Thanjavur, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Tiruchirappalli, Thiruvarur, Kumbakonam, Vadalur and Amaravathipudur.
