Universal Brotherhood Day 2026 — Values Education Programme Series: Thanjavur

As part of its Universal Brotherhood Day celebrations, Ramakrishna Math, Thanjavur organised a series of value education, motivational, health-awareness, and character-building programmes from 1 to 11 September 2026, reaching students, teachers, and young people across Tamil Nadu.

On 1 September 2026, 63 students of J.R.K. Nursery and Primary School, Thanjavur, participated in a Value Education Programme at the Vivekananda Empowerment Centre.

On 2 September, 153 students of Morning Star Matriculation School attended a Value Education Programme at the Vivekananda Empowerment Centre.

On 5 September 2026, observed as Teachers’ Day, programmes were conducted at Sri Sundareswara Vidyasala Higher Secondary School, Melur, Madurai. Swami Vimurtananda addressed the teachers on the theme “The First Innings and Second Innings of Life,” while Dr. Krishnaveni Hariram spoke on “Six Gifts Teachers Should Give Their Students.” 60 teachers participated. Separate motivational sessions were also conducted for students of Classes XI and XII, benefiting around 400 students.

On 8 September, 200 students of Thamarai International School attended a programme at the Vivekananda Empowerment Centre. Dr. Kalaimagal spoke on the theme “Health is Your Real Wealth,” and Swami Vimurtananda addressed the students on the importance of developing what he described as the real “IBM” of life — Intellect, Body, and Mind.

On 9 September, 100 students of Vivekanandam Vidyashram Senior Secondary School, Thiruvarur, participated in a Value Education Camp at the Vivekananda Empowerment Centre.

On 10 September, Swami Vimurtananda conducted a series of sessions at Sri Sarada Educational Institutions, Tirunelveli, addressing 60 teachers of Sri Sarada Vidyalaya, around 600 students of Sri Sarada College for Women, around 100 kindergarten children, and 120 postgraduate students.

On 11 September 2026, special Chicago Day programmes were held at multiple venues. Around 450 students of National College, Tiruchirappalli, and around 500 P.E.T. and Yoga students from colleges affiliated to Bharathidasan University participated in dedicated programmes. Around 200 students of Kamala Subramaniam School were addressed by Srimat Swami Vimokshanandaji. A Chicago Day Programme was also held at NIFTEM-T, attended by around 100 participants, and addressed by Srimat Swami Vimokshanandaji and Sri Alagu Alagappan.

During this first phase of the Universal Brotherhood Day celebrations, a total of 3,106 students, teachers, and young people were reached through programmes promoting self-confidence, character, health, noble values, purposeful living, and the inspiring message of Swami Vivekananda.
