Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Contai, organized a Youth Convention to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago address on Thursday, 11th September 2025, at the newly built Abhedananda Sabhagriha. More than 450 students and teachers from 21 schools and colleges of Contai town and surrounding areas participated in the programme.
The programme began with Vedic chanting, followed by a welcome address, recitation of Swamiji’s Swadesh Mantra, Swamiji’s song, mime, drama, and a group song by the participants. Adhyaksha Swami Mayadhishananda, Chief Guest Swami Sarvapradananda, and Sri Basanta Kumar Ghorai, Headmaster of Nayaput Sudhir Kumar High School, spoke on the significance of the Chicago address and its impact on the Indian people. All participants were provided with a tiffin packet and two booklets on Swamiji.
