The 132nd anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago addresses was observed on 11 September at Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad. Due to inclement weather in the state for over a month, the celebration was kept minimal; however, the enthusiasm and spirit to pay tribute to Swami Vivekananda remained bright and encouraging.
A simple garlanding ceremony of Swamiji’s statue on Tank Bund Road was conducted, followed by a public meeting. Approximately 350 devotees, students, and volunteers attended the meeting.
A soothing and beautiful sitar recital, performed by Pt Nayan Ghosh—a devotee and internationally reputed artist from Mumbai—was presented for nearly 90 minutes. This proved to be an apt and divine tribute to Swamiji on the historic anniversary of his Chicago addresses.
