Welfare Activities: Guwahati, March 2026

Ramakrishna Mission, Guwahati

On 01 March 2026, the Ramakrishna Mission, Guwahati, conducted a welfare distribution programme aimed at fostering self-reliance among women and supporting the academic pursuits of meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds.

Empowerment of Women

To promote economic independence, the center provided essential vocational tools to needy, trained women:

  • Sewing Machines: 11 units distributed.
  • Tantsals (Handlooms): 11 units distributed.

Support for Students

In an effort to encourage academic excellence and provide resources for learning, the center extended support to students:

  • Scholarships: A one-time scholarship of Rs. 5,000 was awarded to each of the 30 poor and meritorious students.
  • Educational Materials: The center also distributed 90 exercise books and 30 copies of the book “Mor Bharat Amar Bharat” (in Assamese) to the students.

These initiatives reflect the Mission’s ongoing commitment to social welfare and community development in the region.
