Ramakrishna Mission, Sarisha, started the Yaas cyclone relief services along with Covid relief in the coastal area of South 24 Parganas which includes Bakkhali, Patharpratima, Kakdwip, Namkhana, Kulpi Mousavi Dwip and other affected areas from 27 May 2021 onward.
The ashrama distributed cooked food & groceries to 3546 families with 14788 plates meal, 5000 kg Chira and 1600 kg Gur among 17 villages of the coastal area, from 27 – 30 May 2021.
The ashrama distributed cooked food to 86 families of Covid patients & families from 20 – 30 May 2021 of 9 villages around Sarisha; distributed cooked food to poor wage earners of 6 villages 996 families, affected due to the lockdown; distributed 2500 mask, 1250 toilet soap, and 700 sanitizers.
