Sri Ramakrishna Advaita Ashrama, Kalady, organized a one-day Youth Convention on 4th March 2025, with 120 youth participants, primarily students from B.Ed institutes, including Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady, and Sreenarayana Training College, Okkal. The event was held at the Ashrama Auditorium.
The inaugural session was presided over by Swami Bhuvanantmananda, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Kochi, and included an address by Smt. Bindu C.V., Vice-Principal.
Sessions and Discussions
- Swami Nandatmajananda, Editor of Prabhudha Keralam, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Thrissur, conducted a session on “Mind and Its Mechanism,” emphasizing the importance of expanding the mind with values that lead to selfless work, true peace, and happiness.
- Swami Bhuvanantmananda delivered a talk on “The Role of a Teacher,” highlighting self-value, responsibility, and the role of educators in nation-building. He stressed that teachers should embody Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy of “Be and Make.”
- Swami Brahmaparananda led an interactive group discussion on Swami Vivekananda’s quotes on education, where participants actively engaged in thought-provoking discussions.
- Sri K.K. Subramanian, Retired Headmaster, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, shared valuable insights from his long teaching career in Arunachal Pradesh.
A special highlight of the event was Swami Nandatmajananda’s live portrait sketch of Swami Vivekananda, which was later presented to Smt. Praseeda, Vice-Principal of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady.
The convention concluded with expressions of gratitude from participants, who acknowledged the invaluable knowledge and inspiration they gained for their future careers as educators.
