On Wednesday, 8th January 2025, Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, organized a Youth Convention in connection with National Youth Day 2025. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of 1,450 students from 27 educational institutions across Madurai.
The program commenced at 10 a.m. with Vedic chanting by the sadhus and brahmacharis of the Math, followed by a song performed by the teachers of the Math’s school. Swamis Nityadipananda and Arkaprabhananda delivered inspiring speeches, which were followed by addresses from the special invitees: Prof. Ilango Ramanujam, retired Professor of English at Vivekananda College, Tiruvedagam (an institution run by Sri Ramakrishna Tapovanam, founded by Swami Chidbhavanandaji), and Sri Adiseshan, a well-known auditor and orator from Madurai.
The girl students of Sarada Vidyavanam School, managed by Sri Ramakrishna Tapovanam, presented devotional songs, while the students of Sarada Vidyalaya Matriculation School performed a short skit on the theme Harmony of Religions.
The program concluded at 1 p.m. with the singing of the National Anthem. Cooked food was served to all attendees, including students, devotees, and staff from various institutions. In total, approximately 1,550 people were served.
