Youth Festival: Kalady, September 2026

The annual Brahmanandodayam School Youth Festival 2026 was conducted by the four school units of Ramakrishna Advaita Ashrama, Kalady during August–September 2026. The festivals were held separately by Brahmanandodayam Higher Secondary School (BHSS), Brahmanandodayam High School (BHS), Brahmanandodayam Sanskrit Upper Primary School (BSUPS), and Brahmanandodayam Junior Basic School (BJBS), providing students across all levels a dedicated platform to showcase their artistic talents and cultural aptitude.


(i) Brahmanandodayam Higher Secondary School (BHSS) — Youth Festival

The BHSS Youth Festival was inaugurated on 1 September 2026 in the Ashrama Auditorium. The inaugural function was presided over by the Principal, Smt. Suprabha. The Chief Guest, Dr. Sreelakshmi R, former State Kalathilakam and currently serving as Professor of Vedanta at Sree Sankara College, Kalady, graced the occasion. Smt. Akhila Sunilkumar also addressed the gathering. Students participated in a range of competitions, including Mohiniyattam, Kerala Nadanam, Mappilappaattu, Kuchippudi, and Light Music.


(ii) Brahmanandodayam High School (BHS) — ‘Brahma’ Youth Festival

The BHS ‘Brahma’ Youth Festival was held across two days — 30 August and 3 September 2026. The function was inaugurated by Kalamandalam Veni, Teacher in the Department of Dance, Sri Sankaracharya Sanskrit University. The benedictory speech was delivered by Swami Brahmaparananda. The High School Headmistress, Smt. Gini, presided over the function.

The first day featured competitions in Malayalam and Sanskrit Recitation, Light Music, Classical Music, and Mappilappattu. The second day included Bharatanatyam, Folk Dance, Group Dance, and Folk Songs. A number of students were declared eligible to participate in Sub District level competitions.


(iii) Brahmanandodayam Sanskrit Upper Primary School (BSUPS) — ‘Sargotsavam 2026’

The BSUPS Arts Festival ‘Sargotsavam – 2026’ was conducted on 2 and 3 September 2026. The two-day celebration offered students a platform to exhibit their artistic talents and creativity. The festival was inaugurated by the renowned Radio Jockey, Sri Rajan Somasundaram. The Headmistress, Smt. Suma Devi, delivered the welcome address. Various competitions and cultural programmes were organised across both days, in which students participated with enthusiasm and confidence.


(iv) Brahmanandodayam Junior Basic School (BJBS) — Balakalolsavam

The BJBS Balakalolsavam was conducted on 11 and 14 September 2026 in the Ashrama Auditorium. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Viju Ramachandran, Screenwriter and Lyricist. The welcome address was delivered by the Headmaster, Shri Hari Krishnan. Shri Anilkumar P. G., PTA President, presided over the function, and Shri Renjith, PTA Vice President, conveyed his greetings. The two-day festival witnessed enthusiastic student participation across various events. The programme provided young students an encouraging setting to express their talents and develop an appreciation for the arts and culture.


The successful conduct of all four school festivals reflects the sustained commitment of Ramakrishna Advaita Ashrama, Kalady to holistic education and the nurturing of cultural sensibility among students across age groups.
