125th Anniversary of Ramakrishna Mission: Jalpaiguri, May 2023

To commemorate the 125th Foundation year of Ramakrishna Mission and the 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s triumphant return from the west, the concluding programme organized by Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Jalpaiguri in two phases i.e. 1st and 8th May 2023. 

Part One: Mission Foundation Day, 1st May 2023

Like every year, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri celebrated its Annual Celebration -2023 along with the commemoration of the 125th Foundation year of Ramakrishna Mission (Concluding Ceremony) and Swami Vivekananda’s triumphant return from the West. The programme commenced on 1st May 2023 with Special Puja, Homa and Bhajans and other rituals as usual in the temple, discourses on the life of Holy Trio by various monastic members. Guest speaker Revered Swami Pareshatmanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Raiganj delivered a speech. A good number of devotees, admirers and visitors from different places have attended the event. The major attraction was a colourful procession of Monastics, devotees and admirers from 8.30 am to 10.30 am with children numbering 120 from various schools dressed as Swami Vivekananda. Cooked prasad has been distributed at noon among 1200 visitors and among 400 visitors in the evening hours as well. 

 

Part Two : Ramakrishna Mahasangha , 8th May 2023 

In continuation of the concluding programme, on 8th May 2023, a Cultural Programme was arranged at Sarojendra dev Raikat Kala kendra (Art Gallery) Jalpaiguri. The above programme was conducted in the presence of Revered Swami Devarajanandaji Maharaj, Joint Convenor, Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Bhava Prachar Committee, Belur Math. Vedic Chanting, Speech and drama performed by the School children were the main attractions of the programme. Revered Maharaj spoke on Ramakrishna Mahasangha. Drama were based on the establishment of Ramakrishna Mission on 1st May, 1897 by Swami Vivekananda and Return of Swami Vivekandnanda from the west. Aratrikam in the form of dance was also performed.  Around 700 spectators enjoyed the programme.
