The Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kankhal, observed the auspicious completion of 125 years of its dedicated service on 1st June 2026. The occasion was marked by deep spiritual fervour, fraternal harmony among monastics, and collective rejoicing among the assembled devotees, patients, and well-wishers.
Morning Worship and Homa
The day’s observances commenced with a Special Puja offered to Sri Sri Thakur, followed by a Homa. The sacred rituals set a tone of solemnity and devotion befitting a centenary-and-a-quarter of selfless service in the name of Narayana.
Rogi Narayana Puja
In keeping with the Sevashrama’s foundational mission of seeing Narayana in the sick and the suffering, a Rogi Narayana Puja was performed, honouring the patients of the institution as living embodiments of the Divine.
Sadhu Sammelan
The central event of the day was a Sadhu Sammelan, which brought together a distinguished gathering of monastics and spiritual leaders from diverse traditions. More than 30 monks representing 17 different branches of the Ramakrishna Order participated, reflecting the wide fraternal bonds the Sevashrama has nurtured over its 125-year history.

The Sammelan was capably compered by Acharya Dr. Swami Hariharanandaji Maharaj. The presence of numerous Mandaleshwaras and Mahants from various Akharas further enriched the gathering, bearing testimony to the esteem in which the Sevashrama is held across the wider spiritual community of Haridwar and beyond.
Civil Dignitaries and Community Participation
Sri Manoj Garg, former Mayor of Haridwar, graced the occasion, honouring the Sevashrama’s longstanding contribution to the civic and spiritual life of the region. The event was also attended by dignitaries of Haridwar, members of the Managing Committee of the Sevashrama, doctors, staff, and numerous well-wishers.
Release of the 125th Anniversary Commemorative Souvenir
During the Sammelan, the 125th Anniversary Commemorative Souvenir was formally released, serving as a lasting record of the Sevashrama’s century-and-a-quarter of service to God in humanity.
Prasad Distribution
The celebration concluded with the distribution of lunch prasad. The meal was shared by over 750 sadhus and nearly 1,000 devotees, well-wishers, staff members, and patients — a fitting expression of the Sevashrama’s spirit of universal service.
