125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses : Lumdung

Ramakrishna Mission Lumdung celebrated the 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses through the inauguration of a new Primary School with 81 students in Class 1 and Class 2. The School was inaugurated by Sri Mama Natung MLA Seppa West a/c.  Swami Divyananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Saradapitha unveiled the statue of Swami Vivekananda at the premises of the newly inaugurated primary school called Ramakrishna Mission Shishu Vidyamandir.

A  public meeting was held on this occasion where 500 people were present. A copy of Chicago lecture and food packets were distributed among all the tribal audience present there. The meeting started with Vedic Chanting and hymns on Vivekananda and was presided over by Swami Divyanandaji Maharaj. The Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police spoke on Swami Vivekananda’s relevance in modern times.
