Annual Festival: Sarati, November 2025

Ramakrishna Mission, Sarati, celebrated its Annual Festival with great spiritual fervor and enthusiasm on November 19th and 20th, 2025 (Wednesday and Thursday). The two-day event featured extensive spiritual programmes, large-scale community service, and cultural performances.

Day 1: Spiritual Observances and Community Prasad Distribution (November 19)

The first day of the celebration commenced with traditional rites and worship:

  • Morning Programme: The day began with Mangalarati, Vedic Chanting, a Religious Procession, Special Puja of Shri Shri Thakur (Sri Ramakrishna), and Havan (fire sacrifice).
  • Discourses & Devotion: This was followed by religious discourses delivered by Monks and devotional songs by devotees.
  • Community Prasad: The high point of the day was the distribution of cooked Prasad (Khichuri, curry, chatni, and bundia of Kamarpukur) at noon to an estimated 15,000 people.
  • Cultural Programme: Cultural events and devotional songs continued even after Sandhyarati.
  • Distinguished Guest: Sri Ram Chakraborty, Hon’ble Mayor of Chandannagar Corporation, graced the occasion.

Day 2: Welfare Activity and Cultural Performance (November 20)

The second day focused on community welfare and a grand dramatic performance.

  • Blood Donation Camp: At 11:00 AM, a Blood Donation Camp was successfully held on the premises. This camp was coordinated by the Blood Bank of Arambagh Medical College & Hospital, and 40 people voluntarily donated blood.
  • Distinguished Guest: The occasion was also marked by the esteemed presence of Sri Becharam Manna, Hon’ble Minister of Panchayet & Rural Development, Govt. of West Bengal.
  • Evening Programme: After Sandhyarati, a traditional Bengali folk theatre, the Yatra named “Premer Thakur Shri Ramakrishna”, was performed by the ‘New Tarama Opera’ group from Kamarpukur, providing a devotional and cultural conclusion to the festival.
