Block-Level Youth Convention: Ranchi, December 2025

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi

A grand Block-Level Youth Convention (Yuva Sammelan) was organized by Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Morabadi, Ranchi, on December 2, 2025, in Chaingara village, Burmu block, Ranchi district. The event was held in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand.

Total Participants: Approximately 600 youths and villagers attended the program.

Program Highlights

The convention was structured around physical, spiritual, and moral development, inspired by the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.

  1. Inauguration and Spiritual Practice:
    • The program commenced with a Yoga session led by Ashram Yoga teacher, Shri Pritam Banik, who emphasized the importance of yoga and routine for health.
    • This was followed by Vedic Chanting and the lighting of the lamp (Deep Prajwalan).
    • Smt. Sunita Devi and her group performed a welcome song and dance.
    • Anshika Kumari of Akhandananda Shiksha evam Sanskar Kendra, Lawagarh, recited the Swadesh Mantra.
    • A collective recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa was performed.
  2. Key Discourses and Objectives:
    • Welcome Address was delivered by Shri Mahavir Munda, Secretary of Vivekananda Gram Vikas Kendra, Kharkutoli.
    • Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary of the Ashrama, led a collective Meditation practice and explained the convention’s purpose. He spoke on the theme that society is like a bird with two wings—men and women—and only through balance can society reach heights.
    • He focused on the topic “Shaping the New India” (Naya Bharat Gadhon), urging youths to contribute to national resurgence through Swami Vivekananda’s message: “Be and Make” (Bano aur Banao). He stressed the importance of the 3 H’s (Hand, Head, and Heart) for success and explained the structure of education—School Education, Vocational Education, and Moral Education.
    • Swami Bhaktishananda emphasized Character Building as essential for national progress and enlightened the youth with various ideas from Swami Vivekananda.
    • Brahmachari Rajeev Chaitanya provided information about the various welfare and educational programs run by the Ashrama.
  3. Dignitaries and Social Awareness:
    • Chief Guest Smt. Kamala Bhagat, Headmistress of Rajkiya Utkramit Uchha Vidyalaya, Chaingara, addressed the youth, noting that youth conventions serve as a platform for achieving one’s goals.
    • Smt. Devanti Devi, Mukhiya of Chaingara, also shared her views.
    • A street play (Nukkad Natak) titled “Nasha – Ek Chhoti Chingari” (Addiction – A Small Spark) was performed by students of RKMVERI to raise awareness against drug abuse.
    • Shri Satyanarayan Munda, Pramukh (Chief) of Burmu block, gave the Vote of Thanks.
    • Other Guests: Dignitaries included Shri Ghanenath Mahto (Principal, Kisan High School), Shri Sudhir Kumar Mahto (Principal, Swami Vivekananda Gurukulam, Lawagara), Smt. Sita Kumari and Ranthi Devi (Panchayat Samiti members, Chaingara), and Shri Basant Sahu (Former Teacher).
  4. Conclusion:
    • The proceedings were conducted by Shri Pradeep Mahto.
    • The conference concluded with a group discussion among the youth on local village problems and their potential solutions, ensuring practical engagement with community issues.

The event was made successful through the special contributions of workers from various Vivekananda Seva Sanghas of Burmu, members of Sarada Mahila Samiti, teachers and students of RKMVERI, and Ashrama staff and collaborators.
