Celebration of the 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Visit to Assam : Guwahati

A solemn public meeting was held on September 19, 2025, at the sacred Kamakhya Dham to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic visit to Kamakhya Dham and Assam in 1901. This meeting served as the inaugural program for a yearlong celebration by Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Guwahati. The event was presided over by Most Revered Srimat Swami Gautamananda ji Maharaj, the President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math. Sri Kabindra Sarma, Bor Doloi of Kamakhya Temple, and Sri Himadri Sarma, Choto Doloi, were also present. The gathering was attended by a large number of monks, Brahmacharins, devotees, and well-wishers.

In the afternoon, at the Ashrama premises, eight members of the Sarada Sangha presented a session of devotional songs, which created an atmosphere of spiritual fervor. Following the evening Aratrikam, Revered Maharaj ji blessed the large congregation of devotees with his Ashirbachan (blessings), and devotees received Pranams.

Revered Gautamananda ji Maharaj also released the Brochure in connection with the celebration of 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s visit to Maa Kamakhya Dham, Assam.
