A student and youth convention of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Tamluk was held on 11 Sep 2019, as a part of the concluding – 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’ Chicago Addresses.
The programme started with Vedic chanting and Saraswati pranam mantras by the students of Vivekananda Study Circle, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Tamluk.
Swami Shrutisarananda, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Tamluk delivered the welcome address. All the students read out the Swadesh Mantra.
The students of Hat Sarberia Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy Smriti Sikshaniketan, Paramanandapur Jagannath Institution, Panskura Girls’ High School, Vivekananda Study Circle, Byabattarhat Adarsha High School, Moyna Vivekananda Kanya Vidyapith, Dashagram Satishchandra Sarbarthasadhak Sikshasadan, Demari Girls’ High School and Mirikpur Girls’ High School sang songs, recited poems, presented Chicago Address, delivered speeches on and narrated stories on the life of Swami Vivekananda.
Sri Madhup Roy, assistant teacher of Paranchak High School and Srimati Dipali Samanta, ex Headmistress of Moyna Vivekananda Kanya Vidyapith, spoke on the relevance of World Parliament of Religions in the light of Oriental Values and World Parliament of Religions in Chicago and Swami Vivekananda.
Vote of thanks was given by Swami Vinishchayanandaji, Headmaster, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram Vidyalaya, Tamluk.
311 Students and 43 teachers from 14 schools and Vivekananda study circle and 51 guests, volunteers and well-wishers attended the programme.
