COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Services by Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad


In continuation to the COVID-19 pandemic relief services, Ramkrishna Math, Hyderabad distributed 1000 kg rice, 200 kg Das, 200 litres of cooking oil, 200 kg sugar and 200 kg wheat flour among 200 families of daily wage workers and migrant labourers on 18 April 2020 in Vanasthalipuram police station limits in Hyderabad district.

In the wake of lockdown owing to COVID-19 Pandemic Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad has started relief services from 3 April 2020.

In the first phase the L.B. Nagar and Vanasthalipurma Police Zone under Rachakonda Police limits the Math has identified the following:

  • Akshaya Oldage Home, Nagole.
  • Bankmen Vasavi Oldage Home Trust, Mallapur, Balapur.
  • Suraksha Oldage Home, New Nadihills, Meerpet.
  • Keerthana Oldage Home, Venkateshwara Colony, Hasthinapuram.
  • Sudheer Foundation (Orphanage), Ranganayakulagutta, Hayathnagar.
  • Don Bosco School, Information Colony, Hayathnagar.

The Ashrama distributed 350 kgs Rice, 60 Kgs Dall, 105 Kgs of Oil, 75 Kgs Potato’s and 75 Kgs Onion’s – Total Beneficiaries 275 Members.

The Math has also distributed General Medicine, Surgical Items (Spirit, Glycerin, Nebulizer, BP Monitor, First Aid Kits, Cotton Rolls, etc.) & 30 Kgs of Vegetables to M/s. Aleti Atom World Ashram (Disability Home) at Abdullapurmet, Hayath Nagar – Total Beneficiaries 125 Members.

In the second phase, the Rachakonda Police Commisionarate has identified five colonies under Jawharnagar Police station limits for providing relief material to the very poor and daily labourer families.

The Ashrama deputed volunteers of the Math to conduct a preliminary survey and identify the beneficiaries.  The volunteers conducted door to door survey of poverty-stricken people of BJR Nagar, Pittal Basthi, New Venkateshwara Colony, Santhosh Nagar Colony, Shanthi Nagar Firing Range  Area under the Jawharnagar Municipality limits of Medchal – Malkajgiri District of Telangana State.

The Math has identified 600 families who have not received help from the Government and other organizations. The Math has distributed 3,000 kgs Rice, 600 Kgs Dall, 600 litres of Oil, 600 Kgs wheat flour and 600 Kgs Onions were distributed to 600 families (Around 2500 heads).

The Math has also distributed the following literature among the police personnel, Local leaders and the youth. Chicago Addresses, Murtitrayam, Ramakrishna Prabha, Positive Thinking and Life & Message of Swami Vivekananda

The Math has also distributed water bottles, apples and oranges among 150 police personnel and Sanitation workers (RCI Area, Meerpet, Santosh Nagar, Malakpet, Saidabad, Kachiguda, Narayanguda and Kavadiguda Areas).
