Cultural Competitions: Prayagraj, September 2025

Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj (Allahabad)


Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Mutthiganj, Prayagraj organized a series of competitions—Speech, Extempore, Quiz, and Bhajan—from 2nd August to 14th September 2025 as part of its Youth Cell Programme for students from Class VI to Post-Graduate level.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Sri Harsh Vijay (volunteer and Advocate, Allahabad High Court), and was conducted by Sri Saurabh Mishra (volunteer, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama).

The competitions aimed to encourage character building and moral values based on Swami Vivekananda’s man-making and character-building education, inspiring youth to become good and ideal citizens.

For Class VI, Sanskrit, Hindi, and English Recitation competitions were organized.

For Class VII–VIII, Speech and Bhajan competitions were held.

For Class IX–X, XI–XII, and Graduate–Post Graduate levels, Speech, Extempore, Quiz, and Bhajan competitions were organized with topics related to the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.

More than 350 students from 25 schools and 7 colleges participated, and over 40 judges ensured fairness.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony took place on Wednesday, 24th September 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in Ramakrishna Mission Vijnanananda Satsang Bhawan.

Dr. Amit Pal Sharma (I.A.S.), Vice-Chairman, Prayagraj Development Authority was the Chief Guest.

Prof. Raj Laxmi Verma, Ex-Head of Department, Sanskrit was the Special Guest.

Swami Akshayananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, presided over the function.

The event began with lighting of the lamp and Vedic chanting by the inmates, followed by a welcome address by Swami Karunananda.

Literature of Swami Vivekananda and certificates were distributed to all participants and prize-winners.

More than 300 students and devotees attended; refreshments were served to all.
