On Thursday, 8 January 2026, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, organized an Initiated Devotees’ Convention dedicated to the spiritual ideals and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The convention aimed to deepen the spiritual foundation of the participants and reinforce the practical application of Swamiji’s “Man-making” philosophy in daily life.
Programme Highlights
The event was marked by a disciplined and spiritually vibrant atmosphere, supported by the active participation of the Ashrama’s monastics and dedicated volunteers. Key segments of the convention included:
- Spiritual Practices: The sessions featured Vedic chanting, guided meditation, and the singing of soul-stirring devotional hymns.
- Scriptural Study: Devotees engaged in readings from Swami–Shishya Samvad and Karma Yoga, exploring the profound dialogues and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
- Discourses: Senior monastics delivered discourses highlighting the contemporary relevance of Swamiji’s life-transforming philosophy.
Participation and Outreach
A total of 296 initiated devotees attended the convention with great devotion and attentiveness.
- Hospitality: Upon the conclusion of the program, cooked prasad was served to all 296 participants.
- Spiritual Distribution: As a token of encouragement and remembrance, each devotee was presented with a commemorative set of 100 photographs of the Holy Trinity (Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda) for further distribution among their own circles.
