Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar, Agartala, has undertaken a welfare initiative named ‘Shraddha’ (Seva Prakalpa for the Needy Widow Mothers) to provide regular material support to economically disadvantaged widow mothers in the local community.
As part of this initiative, the Viveknagar Centre has been distributing monthly ration kits among needy widow mothers since January 2026. The programme aims to provide essential household provisions on a regular basis and thereby offer practical support to women facing economic hardship.
Monthly Ration Distribution
During August 2026, a total of 108 widow mothers benefited from the programme. Each beneficiary was provided with one complete ration kit containing essential food and household items.

Impact of the Initiative
The Shraddha programme provides sustained assistance rather than one-time relief. By distributing essential food provisions and basic personal and household-care items every month, the initiative helps needy widow mothers meet some of their regular household requirements with greater dignity and security.
