Overview: In response to the recent flood crisis in Himachal Pradesh, the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Shimla, conducted a comprehensive relief operation to support displaced and affected households. Over the course of three days, our teams distributed essential food rations, cooking supplies, and hygiene kits to 65 families in the remote areas of the Rampur Sub-Division.

Food Staples & Dry Rations:

  • Rice: 650 kg
  • Atta (Wheat Flour): 650 kg
  • Pulses (Dal): 130 kg
  • Sugar: 195 kg
  • Salt: 130 kg
  • Tea: 130 packets (250 gm each)
  • Milk Powder: 65 packets (200 gm each)

Cooking Essentials & Spices:

  • Edible Oil: 130 bottles (750 ml each)
  • Haldi (Turmeric Powder): 32.5 kg
  • Kitchen King Masala: 130 packets (100 gm each)

Hygiene & Sanitation:

  • Bathing Soap: 130 units
  • Washing Soap: 130 units
  • Washing Powder: 65 kg

General Utilities:

  • Candles: 130 packets
  • Matchboxes: 1,300 units

Summary of Impact

The distribution was meticulously planned to ensure that each family received a balanced kit containing approximately 20 kg of grains, essential proteins, and sufficient sanitation supplies to maintain health standards during the recovery period. This intervention provided immediate food security to approximately 325 individuals (based on average family sizes) across the targeted Panchayats.
