Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, continued and expanded its flood relief operations throughout October 2025, reaching more severely affected areas of the Jalpaiguri district. In collaboration with local volunteers, the Ashrama conducted multiple phases of distribution, providing comprehensive relief kits and essential bedding materials to a total of 1010 families, benefiting 4572 individuals.
1. Relief Distribution Details
The relief services were carried out across four separate dates in the Nagrakata, Maynaguri, and Dhupguri blocks of the Jalpaiguri district. The distribution was categorized into two types of aid: Comprehensive Relief Kits (35 essential articles) and targeted distribution of Bedding Materials.

The relief items were carefully selected to address the diverse needs of families affected by the floods.
A. Bedding Materials (Distributed on Oct 29 & 30)
This distribution focused on providing essential items for rest and shelter.

Each of the 152 relief kits distributed on October 15 and 18 contained 35 essential articles, including food, clothing, housing support, and hygiene items, designed for immediate and sustained relief.
1. Food and Nutrition Items (Per Kit):
- Staples: Rice (10 kg), Wheat Flour (5 kg), Masur Dal (1 kg), Chhola (1 kg), Salt (1 kg), Mustard Oil (500 gm).
- Nutrition: Soyabean (1 kg), Groundnuts (250 gm), Horlicks (500 gm), Biscuits (2 packets), Chikki (2 pieces), ORS Sachets (4 packets).
2. Shelter, Safety, and Utensils (Per Kit):
- Tarpaulin (1 piece), Mosquito Net (1 piece), Blanket (1 piece), Aluminum Bucket (1 piece), Mug (1 piece), Trunk (1 piece), Lock (1 piece), Candles (6 pieces), Lighter (1 piece), Bulb (2 pieces), Mosquito Dhoop (2 packets).
3. Clothing and Personal Hygiene (Per Kit):
- Saree (1 piece), Dhoti (1 piece), Towel (1 piece), Banian/Vest (1 piece), Bath Soap (1 piece), Detergent Soap (1 piece), Handwash (1 piece), Toothpaste (1 piece), Toothbrush (2 pieces).
4. Spiritual and Motivational Items (Per Kit):
- Laminated Photo of Thakur, Ma, and Swamiji (1 piece), Swami Vivekananda Photo (1 piece), Book Amrit Bani (1 piece).

The systematic distribution of both comprehensive kits and essential bedding materials has significantly broadened the support provided to the flood-affected communities in Jalpaiguri. By the end of October 2025, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, has served a total of 1010 families and 4572 beneficiaries, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to serving the victims until full normalcy is restored.
