The Ramakrishna Mission, Kalyani, was holily graced by the presence of the Most Revered President of the Ramakrishna Order, Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, on 13 April 2026. Most Revered Maharaj visited the Ashrama during his return journey to Belur Math from the Ramakrishna Mission Calcutta Students’ Home, Belgharia. Upon his arrival at 10:15 am, he was received with profound joy and reverence by the resident monks and devotees.

The foundation stone of the proposed ‘Ma Sarada Sharanalaya’ was laid by Most Revered Maharaj at approximately 10:45 am. This G+3 multipurpose building, designed with a total carpet area of 17,298 sq ft, is intended to provide essential space for the President’s quarters, monastic quarters, and a kitchen and dining facility. Subsequent to the unveiling of the ceremonial wall-mounted stone, Most Revered Maharaj participated in a brief celebration where a 30 kg cake was cut and distributed to approximately 600 individuals.

Following the ceremony, a gathering was held at the Vivekananda Auditorium, where about 700 devotees received the blessings of Most Revered Maharaj. All attendees were provided with packed fruit offerings. In a spirit of monastic fellowship, a ‘Sadhu Bhandara’ was offered to around thirty monks from various nearby branch centres in the presence of the Revered President Maharaj.
