Inauguration of “Maa Sarada Prasadalaya”: Nabadwip, February 2026

Ramakrishna Mission, Nabadwip

Ramakrishna Mission, Nabadwip, inaugurated “Maa Sarada Prasadalaya” on Sunday, 1 February 2026, coinciding with the Holy Birth Tithi of Most Revered Swami Adbhutanandaji Maharaj, a direct disciple of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna. The new prasadalaya was offered in the sacred name of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi for the service of humanity.

The inauguration was performed by Revered Swami Vimalatmanandaji Maharaj, Vice-President, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, and Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Yogodyan.

Facilities of the New Prasadalaya

“Maa Sarada Prasadalaya” comprises:

  • A fully equipped kitchen
  • A store room
  • A dining hall accommodating around 150 people
  • A separate dining room exclusively for monastic members

The facility has been generously donated by Peerless General Finance and Investment Co. Ltd. in loving memory of Late Sri Sunil Kanti Roy.

Purpose and Utilization

The prasadalaya will provide vital support for various welfare and educational initiatives of the Ashrama, including:

  • Daily tiffin for underprivileged students of
    • Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP)
    • Vivekananda Abhyudaya Prakalpa
    • Free Coaching Centre
  • Anna-Dana programmes
  • Other Seva activities of the Ashrama

Programme Highlights

  • Around 70 monks from various Ramakrishna Mission centres attended the Sadhu Bhandara.
  • Distinguished guests present included:
    • Smt. Sikha Roy, Sri Goutam Roy, Sri Bijit Nandi of the Peerless Group
    • Sri Pundarikaksha Saha, Ex-Minister of State, Govt. of West Bengal & MLA, Nabadwip
    • Sri Tapan Kumar Chatterjee, MLA, Purbasthali Uttar
    • Sri Biman Krishna Saha, Chairman, Nabadwip Municipality

The inauguration of “Maa Sarada Prasadalaya” marks yet another significant step in the Ashrama’s ongoing mission to serve society, especially the underprivileged, in the spirit of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi.
