Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math

Revered President Maharaj is in Sitanagaram (Vijayawada) and will return to Belur Math on 2 February. He will be visiting Gol Park centre, Kolkata, on 7 February, and Coimbatore, Ootacamund, Delhi and Vrindavan from 25 February to 8 March.

Swami Suhitanandaji is in New Zealand and will return to Belur Math on 8 February after visiting Singapore. Thereafter, he will visit Krishnanagar and Nabadwip from 25 February to 2 March.

Swami Bhajananandaji is at Belur Math.

Swami Girishanandaji returned to Belur Math from Narendrapur on 16 January. He is now in Gayaji and will return to Belur Math on 8 February after visiting Asansol and Baganchra. Thereafter, he will visit Balaram Mandir, Kolkata, from 12 to 14 February and Medinipur from 25 February to 5 March.

Swami Divyanandaji is in Ghatmura (West Bengal) and will return to Cossipore on 2 February. Subsequently, he will be visiting Mumbai, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) and Pune from 5 to 12 February, Kalyani from 23 to 25 February, and Kurmun and Nasigram (West Bengal) on 27 and 28 February.

Swami Vimalatmanandaji is in Nabadwip and will return to Kankurgachhi on 2 February. He will visit Bolpur from 8 to 13 February.

The birthday (janma-tithi) of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated at Belur Math on Saturday, 10 January, with special worship, homa, devotional songs and music. A good number of devotees attended the celebration throughout the day. Khichuri prasad was served to 11,000 devotees. Swami Bodhasarananda presided over the meeting held in the afternoon.

As announced in the December 2022 bulletin, the historic Alambazar Math, Kolkata, had been acquired by the headquarters, albeit in a dilapidated state. After a thorough restoration, the heritage building, featuring a museum, was inaugurated by Revered President Maharaj on 12 January, the National Youth Day. A public meeting held in this connection was addressed by Revered President Maharaj, Swami Suhitanandaji, Swami Bhajananandaji, Swami Divyanandaji, the General Secretary and several other dignitaries.

Sri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Governor of Assam, visited Belur Math on 11 January.

New Sub-centres

Moynapur Sri Ramakrishna-Akshaykumar Pathachakra in Bankura district was taken over and made a sub-centre of Jayrambati Mission centre in December 2025.

Founded in 1987, the Pathachakra was established at the birthplace of Sri Akshay Kumar Sen, a lay disciple of Sri Ramakrishna and the author of Sri Sri Ramakrishna Punthi, a biography of Sri Ramakrishna in Bengali verse.

At the request of Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mount Abu, Rajasthan, whose immovable properties already belonged to the Ramakrishna Mission, the possession and management of the Ashrama were taken over by us in March 2025. The Ashrama was then renamed Ramakrishna Mission and made a sub-centre of the Khetri branch. Swami Divyanandaji dedicated the sub-centre on 8 November with a programme featuring special worship and homa.

News of Branch Centres in India

The newly renovated Vivekananda Hall of our school in Kanpur was dedicated on 23 December.

Revered President Maharaj opened the new school building of Saradamoni Girls’ High School on the Sakchi campus of Jamshedpur centre on 5 January.

Dr Sukanta Majumdar, Union Minister of State for Education, visited Asansol centre on 7 January.

Sri Ashim Kumar Ghosh, Governor of Haryana, attended the birthday celebration of Swami Vivekananda at Chandigarh centre on 10 January.

The General Secretary inaugurated a students’ home building, named Vireshwarananda Bhawan, at the Gangail Road sub-centre of Viveknagar centre, Agartala, on 16 January. Dr Manik Saha, the Chief Minister of Tripura, who was also present on the occasion, unveiled a statue of Swami Vivekananda there. The event concluded with a public meeting where the General Secretary, the Chief Minister, and other dignitaries addressed the gathering.

Conclusion of the 125-Year Celebrations at Halasuru, January 2026

Halasuru centre, Bengaluru, held the closing ceremony of the year-long celebrations to commemorate 125 years of the Ramakrishna Movement in Bengaluru, with a three-day programme from 16 to 18 January, comprising public meetings, cultural events, Chandi Homa, values education workshops, a marathon, and a Ratha Yatra. Hundreds of monks, devotees, students and others took part in the celebration.

On 17 January, Sri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Governor of Manipur, inaugurated the pre-primary school on the Babupara campus of Imphal centre and released a school magazine in a programme held in this connection. A mathematics laboratory at the centre’s high school on the Uripok campus was opened on 19 January.

The General Secretary inaugurated the newly constructed skill development training centre building at Naora centre on 22 January, the sacred birthday of Swami Trigunatitanandaji Maharaj.

The General Secretary dedicated the newly built senior monks’ quarters, named Chandramani Sadhu Nivas, at Chandipur centre on 25 January.

Swami Suhitanandaji laid the foundation stone for the proposed new campus of Vijayawada centre in Amaravati on 20 December.

Ranchi Morabadi centre conducted a farmers’ fair on 7 January, which was attended by 250 farmers.

On the occasion of Gangasagar Mela, Seva Pratishthan hospital extended medical service on the Mela grounds from 10 to 16 January. In all, 7496 patients were treated, out of which 279 received indoor medical care. Manasadwip centre provided board and lodging to 932 pilgrims at its unit in Gangasagar.

On 16 January, Thirumukkudal centre served refreshments and drinking water to 2000 pilgrims who participated in a local religious festival held nearby.

The General Secretary laid the foundation stones for the proposed ITI building and an annex to the dispensary at Viveknagar centre, Agartala, on 18 January.

Awards and Recognitions

A student of Chennai Vidyapith college bagged a gold medal in the India-Nepal International Badminton Test Series held in Kathmandu, Nepal, from 1 to 5 January.

Our Hatamuniguda school received a 5-star rating for its commitment to environmental values in the Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating conducted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

A class-10 student of our school in Kozhikode received the Ujjvala Balyam award, conferred by the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Kerala, for excellence in sports. The award carried a certificate, a medal and a cash prize of Rs. 25,000.

UNESCO has renewed its Chair in Inclusive Adapted Physical Education and Yoga at RKMVERI deemed university’s faculty centre, Coimbatore Mission, for another four years, until 2029.

A student of our Shivanahalli school cleared the all-India test conducted by the Raising A Mathematician (RAM) Foundation, Mumbai, and was thereby selected for the All Girls Math Nurture Camp (AG MNC). This is a seven-day training programme designed to broaden and deepen students’ understanding of mathematics. It also gives them exposure to various areas in the subject.

Values Education and Youth Programmes

The following centres held programmes mentioned against their names:

  • Barasat: A youths’ convention on 14 December, in which 601 youth delegates and 55 others took part.
  • Basavanagudi, Bengaluru: A youth awareness programme on 27 December, in which 98 college students participated.
  • Dakshineshwar, Kolkata: A youths’ convention on 28 December, in which 625 youths were in attendance.
  • Dhaleswar, Agartala: A values education programme for parents on 28 December, in which 160 parents were in attendance.
  • Gurap: A values education programme on 2 and 3 January, which was attended by 109 teachers.
  • Gurugram:
    • A values education workshop for children from 5 to 10 January, in which 20 school children were in attendance.
    • Two values education programmes on 10 and 11 January, in which a total of 18 corporate professionals took part.
  • Hyderabad: Two values education programmes at two villages in Medak district on 27 December, in which a total of 400 students participated.
  • Jalpaiguri:
    • A personality development workshop at a nearby college on 6 January, in which 113 students took part.
    • A youths’ convention on 8 January, in which 171 youths were in attendance.
  • Ponnampet: A youths’ convention on 23 January, in which 50 college students took part.
  • Puri Math: A spoken Sanskrit learning camp from 15 to 24 December, in which 24 youths were in attendance.
  • Raipur: Six personality development camps at six schools and colleges in three districts of Chhattisgarh on 8 January and 20 January, attended by a total of 722 students and 46 teachers.
  • Rajkot: Cultural competitions in December, in which a total of 9454 students from 166 schools participated. The prize-giving ceremony was held on 25 January.
  • Thanjavur: Nine values education programmes for youths in various educational institutions from 5 to 24 January, in which a total of 2905 youths were in attendance.
  • Yadadri Bhuvanagiri: A youths’ motivation programme on 4 January, in which 150 school students took part.

Eye Camps and other Healthcare Services

The following centres conducted medical camps. A summary of the services provided by them is given below.

India:

  • Chennai Students’ Home: A blood donation camp on 12 January, in which 65 units of blood were collected.
  • Coimbatore Mission: Six medical camps (1 dental, 1 ENT, 1 orthopaedic & 3 general) from 27 December to 25 January; total 365 patients were treated.
  • Cuttack: A blood donation camp on 12 January, in which 72 units of blood were collected.
  • Digboi:
    • Two medical camps on 14 and 28 December, in which a total of 71 patients were treated.
    • A physiotherapy camp on 28 December, in which 18 patients were benefitted.
  • Gurap: A blood donation camp on 7 January, in which 35 people donated blood.
  • Hyderabad: A medical camp at a village in Hyderabad district on 11 January, in which 150 patients were treated.
  • Jamshedpur:
    • An eye camp at a nearby place on 4 January, in which 65 patients were screened; 41 underwent cataract surgery at a local eye hospital.
    • A blood donation camp in association with a local blood bank on 12 January, in which 104 people donated blood.
  • Khetri: Three eye camps from November to January, in which a total of 304 patients were screened; 140 underwent cataract surgery at an eye hospital in Jaipur.
  • Konampatti:
    • Five medical camps from 28 December to 25 January, in which a total of 249 patients were treated.
    • Two eye camps in association with an eye hospital on 28 December and 25 January, in which 69 patients were screened; 13 underwent cataract surgery, and 29 were given spectacles.
  • Kuralbhanga: A medical camp on 16 January, in which 60 patients were treated.
  • Lucknow: Eye camps in December: 6039 patients were examined, of whom 465 underwent surgery and received spectacles.
  • Madurai:
    • A health awareness camp on 4 January, in which 150 people took part.
    • An eye camp on 18 January, in which 132 patients were screened; 35 underwent cataract surgery, and 7 were given spectacles.
  • Malda: A blood donation camp on 12 January, in which 23 people donated blood.
  • Medinipur: A medical camp at a school in Goaldanga, Paschim Medinipur, on 4 January, in which 189 patients were treated.
  • Mumbai: A medical camp at Alibag taluka in Raigad district on 21 December, in which 263 patients were treated; 51 of the eye patients underwent cataract surgery, and 145 were given spectacles.
  • Nattarampalli: An eye camp on 18 January: 112 patients were checked; 48 underwent cataract surgery, and 26 were given spectacles.
  • Porbandar: An eye camp on 9 January, where 35 patients were checked; later, 8 underwent cataract surgery.
  • Puri Math: Two medical camps on 12 and 13 January, in which a total of 208 patients were treated.
  • Rahara, Kolkata: A medical camp at Canning block, South 24 Parganas district, on 14 December, in which 476 patients were treated.
  • Rajkot: A blood donation camp on 11 January, in which 31 units of blood were collected.
  • Thanjavur: A medical camp on 25 January, in which 83 patients were treated.
  • Thirumukkudal: An eye camp in association with an eye hospital in Chennai on 18 January; 108 patients were checked; 17 underwent cataract surgery, and 50 were given spectacles.
  • Vadodara: Eye camps from July to December, in which 3975 patients were checked; 605 underwent cataract surgery.
  • Varanasi Home of Service: Medical camps in 3 districts of Uttar Pradesh (Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, and Varanasi), and Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand in December, benefiting 589 patients.
  • Viveknagar, Agartala: Medical camps from 11 to 21 January at Gomati and West Tripura districts, in which a total of 120 patients were treated.

Outside India:

  • Jashore, Bangladesh: A medical camp on 10 January, in which 100 patients were treated.

Swami Suhitanandaji inaugurated the book-showroom-cum-library at the Sydney centre, Australia, on 20 January, the holy birthday of Swami Brahmanandaji Maharaj.

National Youth Day Celebration

On the occasion of National Youth Day (12 January, the birthday of Swami Vivekananda), the Headquarters and Saradapitha jointly held a programme at Belur Math in which 6084 students from different schools and colleges took part. Khichuri prasad was served to 25,000 people on that day.

Almost all our centres in India celebrated the day with great enthusiasm through programmes such as garlanding Swamiji’s statue, processions, youths’ conventions, speeches, music, and cultural competitions. Many centres conducted programmes at nearby schools and colleges as well.

National Youth Day 2026: Hyderabad

Hyderabad centre conducted a youths’ convention in which 2500 youths were in attendance.

Narainpur centre held a huge procession in which 10,000 students and others marched through the main streets of the city. In the public meeting held on the occasion, Sri Kedar Kashyap, Minister, Department of Forest and Climate Change, Government of Chhattisgarh, and other dignitaries addressed the gathering.

Ranchi Morabadi Ashrama observed the day on its main campus as well as at Swami Vivekananda Sarovar, Ranchi, and in its adopted villages. The morning session was attended by Sri Manohar Lal Khattar, Union Minister of Power, Housing and Urban Affairs; Sri Sanjay Seth, Union Minister of State for Defence, and other dignitaries. Sri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Governor of Jharkhand, was the Chief Guest at the prize distribution ceremony held at the Ashrama in the afternoon.

Thanjavur Math conducted a motivational programme at a local college in which 5000 youths took part.
