The Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Society, Jamshedpur, celebrated a significant milestone with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art school building for Saradamoni Girls’ High School.
Project Background and Overview
Founded in 1951, Saradamoni Girls’ High School had long operated out of a single-story structure. As the building aged and the student body grew, the need for a larger, modern facility became essential.
With the approval of the Belur Math Headquarters and significant Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), construction commenced in February 2023. The project was successfully completed in December 2025.
Architectural Features
The new four-story building spans approximately 54,000 sq. ft. and is divided into three functional blocks designed to provide a modern educational environment:
- Block A (Administrative): Houses the administrative offices, a library, an infirmary, and 8 classrooms.
- Block B (Academic): Features 19 spacious classrooms.
- Block C (Multi-purpose): Contains 15 classrooms and a large Assembly-cum-Multipurpose Hall equipped with modern facilities, including SMART class technology.
Inauguration Ceremony (5 January 2026)
The inauguration was graced by the presence of Most Revered President Maharaj of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission.
- The Unveiling: Arriving at 10:30 a.m., Revered President Maharaj offered arghya to the Holy Trio before officially inaugurating the building by unveiling the commemorative plaque.
- Attendees: The ceremony was attended by senior officers from RVNL, monastics, devotees, and teachers representing all 16 schools operated by the Jamshedpur branch.
- Public Meeting: Following the inauguration, a public meeting was held. The program included a welcome speech by the Secretary, an address by an RVNL representative, and a benedictory address by Most Revered President Maharaj.
- Cultural Program: Students of the school presented a vibrant cultural performance to mark the occasion.
- Sadhu Bhandara: In the afternoon, a sadhu-bhandara was organized, attended by approximately 25 monks from various nearby centers.
Conclusion
The successful completion and inauguration of this massive infrastructure project stand as a testament to the Mission’s commitment to women’s education. The new facility will significantly enhance the learning experience for the girls of Jamshedpur for generations to come.
