Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Gurap, has inaugurated a yearlong character-building initiative titled “Man-making Education” for Class IX students of 16 Government-aided schools in the surrounding areas. The project is designed to impart value-based education inspired by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, aiming to help students cultivate strong character, responsibility, and self-discipline.
As part of this initiative, each school will host 29 classes, two self-evaluation examinations, and one Youth Convention over the course of the year. The classes will emphasize moral development, personality refinement, and practical application of Swamiji’s ideals in daily life.
To prepare the instructors for this meaningful task, a Teachers’ Orientation Programme was held on 2 and 3 January 2026. The sessions were conducted for the teachers and scholars who will take classes in the participating schools. The resource persons included Swamis Vedatitananda, Nityayogananda, Ekachittananda, Durganathananda, Br. Rajib, and Sri Bishwajit Goswami, Professor, Lalbaba College, Belur.
The orientation saw an encouraging participation of 109 teachers, reflecting their commitment to nurturing value-based education among young students.
