Personalia

Revered President Maharaj will be visiting Barasat, Bamunmura, Sikra Kulingram and Gol Park centres from 5 to 10 July, Dakshineshwar on 16 July, and Hyderabad from 23 to 26 July.

Swami Suhitanandaji is scheduled to visit Kasundia from 7 to 11 July, Shyampukur Bati on 15 and 16 July, and Naora and Narendrapur from 21 to 28 July.

Swami Bhajananandaji is in Vrindavan.

Swami Girishanandaji is in Siliguri. He will return to Belur Math on 13 July after visiting Darjeeling and Sahudangi. Later, he will visit Delhi from 31 July to 17 August.

Swami Divyanandaji is scheduled to visit Raiganj, Kaliaganj and Gangarampur (in West Bengal) from 3 to 8 July, Deulpur (Howrah) on 12 July, and Khowai (Tripura), Kailashahar and Agartala from 21 to 26 July.

Swami Vimalatmanandaji will visit Sargachhi and Malda from 4 to 10 July, and Rajarhat Bishnupur from 22 to 27 July.

All of them are keeping well.

News of Branch Centres in India

Revered President Maharaj inaugurated the newly constructed higher secondary school building at Malliankaranai centre on 27 May.

The 125th anniversary of Kankhal centre (1901-2026) was celebrated on 1 June with special worship, homa, worship of the Rogi Narayana, and a convention of monks from various sects and traditions. A commemorative volume was released to mark the occasion.

Narainpur centre hosted the Swami Vivekananda Under-20 Men’s National Football Championship from 2 to 27 May. Held under the aegis of the All India Football Federation, the tournament featured thirty-three teams representing 26 states and 6 union territories, and one team from the Sports Authority of India. The Kerala team emerged as the champions. Sri Arun Sao, Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, attended the event.

A statue of Swami Vivekananda was dedicated at the ITI campus of Viveknagar centre, Agartala, on 6 June.

Revered President Maharaj laid the foundation stones for the proposed (i) auditorium at Chennai Students’ Home on 28 May, and (ii) Sri Ramakrishna Temple at Ramanathapuram on 4 June.

Asansol, Gurap, Jalpaiguri, Narottam Nagar and Salem centres observed World Environment Day on 5 June.

Swami Bhajananandaji inaugurated an additional sales counter at the pharmacy of Vrindavan Sevashrama on 17 June.

International Yoga Day was observed at the following centres on 21 June: Aalo, Chandigarh, Chennai Math, Chennai Students’ Home, Contai, Dibrugarh, Digboi, Gurap, Guwahati, Gwalior, Halasuru, Hatamuniguda, Jalpaiguri, Jhargram, Koyilandy, Krishnanagar, Kuralbhanga, Malda, Midnapore, Mumbai, Nabadwip, Naora, Ranchi Morabadi, Salem, Sribhumi (Karimganj), Swami Vivekananda’s Ancestral House (Kolkata), Thanjavur and Viveknagar (Agartala).

As part of a two-day programme hosted by Ranchi Morabadi centre, a seminar on yoga for healthy ageing, a state-level quiz competition and a district-level yogasana competition were held on 20 June. On the following day, 21 June, yoga programmes were conducted across 27 locations in the state, drawing 1302 yoga enthusiasts.

Awards and Recognitions

A faculty of the Narendrapur off-campus centre of RKMVERI was recognized as among the Top 5% Scientists in the World for the year 2025 by SciRank Global Registry, a transparent, data‑driven benchmarking platform.

A student of our Coimbatore college of physical education represented India at the South Asian Soft Hockey Championship held in Kathmandu this past May. The Indian team won the championship.

Pannicode P J Kuriyan Good Samaritan Trust honoured Thiruvalla Ashrama in recognition of its spiritual and social service activities. A memento and a cash prize of 25,000 rupees were presented to the Ashrama at a programme in Pannicode on 19 June.

Our school in Viveknagar, Agartala, was conferred the first rank in Tripura at the National School Innovation Ranking and Awards function conducted by the Innoventure World Foundation.

Values Education and Youth Programmes

The following centres held programmes mentioned against their names:

India:

Basavanagudi, Bengaluru: Two values education programmes for youths on 20 and 21 June, in which a total of 258 students took part.

Chandigarh: (i) Quiz competitions on Swami Vivekananda in five schools in May, in which a total of 120 students participated. The prize-giving ceremony was held on 20 May. (ii) A values education workshop on 1 June, in which 26 teachers from a nearby school were in attendance.

Falakata: A youths’ conference on 30 May, in which 60 youths took part.

Dhaleswar, Agartala: A values education programme on 28 June, in which 250 parents participated.

Gurugram: (i) Five values education workshops in different parts of the country from 27 May to 12 June, in which a total of 187 teachers and principals were in attendance. (ii) Twelve online values education programmes from 28 May to 13 June, in which altogether 307 teachers and corporate professionals took part.

Haripad: A values education programme on 9 June, which was attended by 213 students.

Hyderabad: (i) Two values education programmes from 8 to 11 June, in which a total of 130 teachers were in attendance. (ii) A residential youths’ camp from 11 to 14 June, in which 175 youths participated.

Jalpaiguri: Six values education programmes in various schools of Jalpaiguri and Cooch Behar districts from 6 to 27 June, in which a total of 1259 students and teachers took part.

Kalyani: A quiz competition cum youths’ conference in association with Gol Park centre, in which 49 youths took part.

Konampatti: A values education programme at a nearby college on 22 June, in which 130 students and teachers took part.

Mumbai: A faculty development programme, in association with a local college, on 18 June, in which 57 faculty members took part.

Rajamahendravaram: Cultural and literary competitions from September 2025 to April 2026, in which a total of 73,608 students from 624 schools and 74 colleges of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana participated.

Thanjavur: Two values education programmes for students on 21 June, in which 200 students from nearby schools participated.

Viveknagar, Agartala: A youths’ conference on 6 June, in which 350 youths were in attendance.

Yadadri Bhuvanagiri: A motivational programme on 7 June, in which 80 youths took part.

The following centres held summer camps for students. The programmes included chanting, bhajans, yogasanas, values education classes, etc.

Outside India

Dublin, Ireland: A Gita chanting competition and a quiz competition on Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi on 13 June, in which 120 people participated.

Eye Camps and other Healthcare Services

The following centres conducted medical camps. A summary of the services they provided is given below.

India:

Chennai Math: An eye camp in Kanchipuram district, with the help of Chengalpattu centre, on 31 May, in which 91 patients were screened; subsequently, 54 were given spectacles and 7 underwent cataract surgery at an eye hospital in Chennai.

Coimbatore Mission: Six medical camps (2 eye, 2 ENT and 2 general) in rural and tribal areas of Coimbatore district from 31 May to 14 June, in which a total of 346 patients were treated.

Dhaleswar, Agartala: Two medical camps in West Tripura district on 13 and 27 June, in which a total of 185 patients were treated.

Digboi: (i) Three medical camps from 17 May to 14 June, in which a total of 96 patients were treated. (ii) An eye camp on 24 May, in which 17 patients were screened; 11 of them were operated on for cataract at an eye hospital in Dibrugarh.

Gurap: An eye camp on 9 June, in which 18 patients were checked; 3 of them underwent cataract surgery at an eye hospital in Howrah.

Guwahati: A medical camp on 23 May, in which 110 patients were treated.

Itanagar: (i) Four blood donation camps from 2 to 21 June, in which altogether 91 units of blood were collected. (ii) An eye camp on 3 June, in which 155 patients were screened; subsequently, 75 underwent cataract surgery.

Jalpaiguri: An eye camp in association with an eye hospital on 14 June, in which 29 patients were screened; subsequently, 10 of them underwent cataract surgery at the eye hospital, and 8 were given spectacles.

Jammu: A medical camp on 22 June, in which 185 patients were treated.

Konampatti: Four medical camps from 31 May to 21 June, in which a total of 128 patients were treated.

Lucknow: Eye camps in May: 4479 patients were examined, of whom 215 underwent cataract surgery and received spectacles.

Madurai: An eye camp on 21 June, in which 158 patients were screened. Of them, 52 were operated on for cataract in a local eye hospital, and 26 were given spectacles.

Naora: (i) An eye camp on 24 April, in which 124 patients were checked. (ii) Two ayurvedic medical camps on 24 and 29 April, where, in all, 274 patients were treated. (iii) Two health awareness camps on 9 April and 14 May; a total of 336 patients benefitted from the camps.

Ootacamund: A medical camp on 28 May, in which 125 patients were treated.

Porbandar: An eye camp on 12 June, where 49 patients were checked; later on, 46 were operated on for cataract in an eye hospital.

Rahara, Kolkata: A medical camp at Dainhat, Purba Bardhaman district, on 24 May, in which 565 patients were treated.

Rajamahendravaram: (i) A medical camp at Rampachodavaram in Polavaram district on 14 June, in which 465 patients were treated. (ii) Three eye camps from April to June, in which a total of 494 patients were checked; 50 underwent cataract surgery at a local eye hospital, and 105 were given spectacles.

Rajkot: (i) An eye camp at a nearby place on 24 May, in which 86 patients were treated; subsequently, 14 underwent cataract surgery at the centre’s dispensary. (ii) A blood donation camp, in collaboration with AIIMS Rajkot, on 20 June, in which 65 people donated blood.

Salem: Three eye camps at nearby places from 7 to 21 June: in all, 414 patients were checked; 149 of them were operated on for cataract in an eye hospital, and 72 were given spectacles.

Silchar: An eye camp at a nearby place on 11 June: 179 patients were checked; subsequently, 21 were operated on for cataract in an eye hospital.

Thanjavur: Three medical camps (1 eye, 1 dental and 1 general) from 7 to 21 June, in which a total of 281 patients were treated.

Viveknagar, Agartala: (i) A dental cum health awareness camp on 26 May at Gomati district, by which 49 patients benefitted. (ii) Two medical camps on 17 and 21 June at Narsingarh and Gomati districts, in which a total of 150 patients were treated.

Outside India:

Batticaloa (a sub-centre of Colombo branch), Sri Lanka: Medical camps at Kiran, Sittandy and Kudumimalai in June, in which altogether 712 patients received medical aid.

Durban, South Africa: A medical camp on 13 June, in which 40 patients were treated.

Sri Manish Gupta, Ambassador of India to Ireland, visited Dublin centre, Ireland, on 13 June.

A statue of Swami Vivekananda was unveiled at the Consulate General of India, Chicago, by Sri Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Ambassador of India to the United States, on 14 June.
