World Environment Day was observed with enthusiasm and active participation at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Gurap, on June 5, 2026. The programme featured recitation of the Swadesh Mantra, the National Anthem, and the National Song, followed by speeches and a tree plantation drive aimed at fostering environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility among students.
Swami Nirantarananda, Secretary of the Ashrama, delivered the keynote address, emphasising the spiritual and social responsibilities towards nature and the importance of sustainable living.
A total of 140 students and 7 teachers from two local Government High Schools, along with students of the Ashrama’s Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa, participated in the programme, making the occasion meaningful and impactful.
