Ramakrishna Mission, Sribhumi, organised a solemn Japa Yajna on 25 January 2026, drawing monks, brahmacharins, devotees, and members of the public into a full-day spiritual retreat. The programme commenced at 7:00 a.m. with Vedic chanting by the monastics, followed by devotional bhajans that set a serene and elevating atmosphere.
The Secretary of the Centre formally welcomed all present and spoke on the profound significance of Japa Yajna in strengthening inner life and deepening spiritual practice.
The day’s scriptural sessions began with Swami Purnayarupanandaji Maharaj, who read from a selected text and delivered an inspiring discourse on Dharma Prasange, drawing from the teachings of Swami Brahmananda. This was followed by Brahmachari Vedagamyachaitanya, who read from Shivananda Vani: Spiritual Conversations of Swami Shivananda, offering valuable insights for spiritual aspirants.
A deeply appreciated reading from the letters of Swami Turiyanandaji Maharaj was presented by Dr. Biswajit Bhattacharya, Principal of a local college, after which a reading from the Gospel of Holy Mother further enriched the devotional ambience.
The programme concluded at 4:00 p.m. with a vote of thanks and concluding remarks by Swami Premaghanananda Maharaj, Secretary of the Ashrama, followed by bhajans and the chanting of Sri Ramakrishna Sharanam.
Approximately 300 devotees participated. Refreshments were served twice, and food packets were distributed to all attendees, bringing the spiritually uplifting event to a harmonious close.
