Manipur Refugee Relief: Imphal, July 2023


For the First Phase of our Manipur Refugee/Distress Relief Work, from 10 May to 20 July, our Ramakrishna Mission, Imphal centre provided relief items, like dry ration, bedding & clothing, toiletries, utensils, food supplements for infants & mothers, etc. to over 120 relief camps, sheltering more than 18,000 affected people, from 5700 families, across 5 districts — Bishnupur, Imphal East, Imphal West, Kakching and Thoubal.

Some of the items that were distributed during the above period are:

Masoor Dal 5310 Kgs, White Matar 5770 Kgs, cooking oil 3060 Litrs, Matar Dal 4740 Kgs, Ngari (fermented fish) 1200 Kgs, Soya Nuggets 2670 Kgs, Milk Powder/Dairy Whitener 1020 Kgs, Infant Milk 516 Kgs, Condiments/Masala Powders 600 Kg, Sugar 2800 Kgs, Cerelac (500 gms) 600 Pkts, Dry Red Chilli 370 Kgs, Mother’s Horlicks (500gms) 144 Pkts, Tea Powder 300 Kgs, Biscuits/Cookies 6460 Pcs, Lactogen 96 Pkts, Black Lentil 250 Kgs, Salt 1125 Kgs, Portable Drinking Water (500 ml) 600 Bottle, Bathing Soap 10800 Pcs, Washing Powder 10200 Pkts, Toothpaste 9048 Tubes, Hair Oil 4066 Btls, Baby Diapers 2040 Pkts, Toothbrush 5580 Pcs, Hair Comb 2316 Pcs, Sanitary Napkins 684 Pkts, Shampoo (5 ml) 19200 sachet, Talcum Powder (15/20 gm) 320 Pcs, Phanek (local Clothing) 1910 Nos., Phee (local Clothing) 1877 Nos., Thin Blankets 5238 Nos., Bedsheets 2665 Nos., Mosquito Net 845 Nos., Towels 3108 Nos., Nylon Mats 300 Nos., Steel Plates (12″) 2800 Nos., Steel Glasses (300 ml) 3000 Nos, Steel Spoons 192 Nos., Notebooks 10480 Nos, Crayons 1000 Pack, Pen 1300 Nos., Pencil 1200 Nos, Sharpener 1000 Nos, Eraser 1000 Nos, etc.

Thus, to continue our efforts to reach out to as many of them as possible, we are in need of funds and appeal to our well-wishers, admirers, and kindhearted people for their generous contribution in support of our humble efforts to alleviate the suffering of the affected people to some extent.
