With the generous financial assistance of the Infosys Foundation, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, successfully conducted a comprehensive Maternity and Child Welfare Service Programme on 24 February 2026. The initiative was designed to bridge the gap in maternal healthcare and nutritional security for mothers and children belonging to economically disadvantaged sections of society.
Medical and Nutritional Support
The programme focused on providing preventative care and essential nourishment to ensure long-term health benefits for the beneficiaries. Each participant received:
- Supplementary Nutritious Food Kits: Tailored to meet the dietary requirements of developing children and expectant/nursing mothers.
- Essential Medicines: Distributed to support recovery and general well-being.
Beneficiary Coverage
The outreach successfully reached 476 individuals, categorized as follows:
- Antenatal Mothers: 65
- Postnatal Mothers: 200
- Children: 211
- Total Beneficiaries Served: 476
The event concluded with the distribution of fresh fruits, tea, and snacks to all attendees. Conducted in a spirit of compassion and “Shiva Jnane Jiva Seva” (Serving God in man), the programme reaffirms the Ashrama’s dedication to the holistic upliftment of the community through sustainable healthcare interventions.
