Ramakrishna Mission Home of Service, Varanasi

In January and February 2026, Vivek Sanjivani, the healthcare and education initiative of the Ramakrishna Mission Home of Service, Varanasi, conducted a series of extensive medical camps. These camps focused on Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) screenings to address chronic illnesses in rural and underserved regions.

Geographic Coverage

The outreach program extended across five districts in two states, specifically targeting “Aspirational Districts” to ensure equitable healthcare access:

  • Uttar Pradesh: Mirzapur, Sonbhadra (Aspirational District), Prayagraj, and Sant Ravidas Nagar.
  • Uttarakhand: Udham Singh Nagar (Aspirational District).

Screening Activities and Services

Utilizing mobile health units, trained healthcare professionals provided diagnostic services for individuals aged 30 and above. The screenings targeted several critical conditions, including:

  • Hypertension (HTN) and Diabetes Mellitus (DM)
  • Oral Cancer (OCE) and Breast Cancer (BCE)
  • Mental Health and Epilepsy
