A two-day Motivation Camp for young volunteers serving society was successfully held at the Village Empowerment Centre on October 4 and 5, 2025, organized by the Ramakrishna Math, Thanjavur. The camp was specifically designed to strengthen the commitment to service among the staff and volunteers of Sevalaya, a dedicated organization inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s noble ideals, which has been active in education and social welfare for the past 37 years. The camp’s curriculum combined spiritual inspiration with practical, intellectual, and physical sessions.
The program was attended by 45 volunteers and featured a range of engaging activities:
- Inspirational Talks: Delivered by eminent speakers, including District Judge Sri L. S. Sathiyamoorthy, who gave a stirring address on “Swami Vivekananda – The Diamond on the Crown of Service,” and Swami Vimurtananda, who spoke on the vast and compassionate heart of Swamiji.
- Skill and Wellness Sessions: Dr. Kalaimagal guided participants with practical advice on natural wellness and simple living.
- Cultural Programs: Included performances of patriotic and devotional songs.
- Interactive Learning: Featured group discussions on effective service delivery and awareness sessions conducted through videos.
- Team Building: Health-based games were included to promote teamwork, physical activity, and joy among the participants.
- Spiritual Practices: Concluded with collective Satsangs (spiritual gatherings) and Deeparadhana (worship with lights), and included dedicated sessions for meditation and Yoga.
The camp successfully inspired renewed enthusiasm and a firm resolve among the participants. It concluded with collective prayers, reinforcing the commitment to serve humanity in the light of Swami Vivekananda’s timeless message of strength, purity, and selfless service.
