As part of the 125th anniversary celebration of the foundation of Ramakrishna Mission, Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad organised a one day National Conference on the theme ‘Education in India: Past, Present and Future’ on Saturday 9 September 2023 in the Vivekananda Auditorium in the campus.
Swami Suvirananada ji Maharaj, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission presided over the conference.
Smt Sridevasana, IAS, Commissioner of School Education, Government of Telengana was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Dr. TGK Murthy, Distinguished Space Scientist (retd) , ISRO, Bengaluru Dr Mohan Raghavan, HOD, Department of Heritage Science and Technology, IIT Hyderabad, and Dr V Raghu, Educationist, Writer and former Principal of Junior college, Bengaluru were the guest speakers.
About 1600 school/college students, teachers, heads of institutions, devotees, volunteers participated in the unique conference. Powerful, positive and thought provoking ideas were presented by Revered General Secretary Maharaj, the Chief Guest and others.
The volunteer students of the Institute of Human Excellence recited the teachings of Swami Vivekananda on Education in a dialogue format which was overwhelming and well appreciated by the learned audience.
There was a student’s panel discussion on the theme of the conference and it was moderated by Dr V Raghu. The maturity, focus and ideas presented by the students was well received by their peers. The contribution of Ramakrishna Mission in the field of education was also presented .
Books on Education, Swami Vivekananda and participation certificates were distributed to all delegates along with lunch prasad.
